Andy Roberts has lashed out at West Indies team management stating that the time has come for the board – Cricket West Indies – to part ways with coach Phil Simmons and white-ball captain Kieron Pollard. Roberts, one of the most intimidating pace merchants of the 70s and 80s, was left unimpressed with Pollard’s performance stating that the skipper has not done anything special for West Indies cricket.

The Caribbean team under Pollard’s watch has had a torrid time on the field in recent times. As defending champions, the West Indies failed to qualify for the knockouts of the Twenty20 World Cup last October-November and one of its many poor results was a shocking home loss to Ireland in an ODI series. Post that, Pollard’s men suffered a 6-0 whitewash in the white-ball leg at the hands of the Indian team last month.
