Bangladesh’s ODI skipper Tamim Iqbal said that he is disappointed to not be able to sweep the series against Afghanistan after the seven-wicket loss in the concluding game of the three-match rubber in Chattogram. Bangladesh are currently sitting atop the ICC Super League points table but they have missed 20 valuable points as they conceded the last game against Sri Lanka and now Afghanistan after winning the opening two fixtures during both series. Bangladesh will now be facing stern competition in their series against South Africa, Ireland and England with the first two assignments on away shores.
“Before the game I had said that this match was probably very important… Every game has value. I am disappointed as we couldn’t play the way we did in the second match.”
