India’s U-19 World Cup winner Rajvardhan Hangargekar has been accused of committing age fraud by Maharashtra’s Commissioner of Sports and Youth Department, Omprakash Bakoria. Hangargekar played a pivotal role in the U-19 World Cup in West Indies recently, sharing the new ball with left-arm pacer Raj Kumar. His exploits earned him an IPL contract with Chennai Super Kings in the 2022 mega auction. As per a report in Saamana newspaper, Bakoria, an IAS officer, has written a formal letter to the BCCI which also includes evidence against Hangargekar.
