England all-rounder Liam Livingstone became the highest overseas player signed hitherto at the IPL 2022 auction after Punjab Kings procured his services with a winning bid of INR 11.50 crore early on the second and final day. The 28-year-old dasher, who played for Rajasthan Royals last season, sparked an early bidding war between Chennai Super Kings and Kolkata Knight Riders. Punjab Kings threw their hat in the fray only at INR 4.2 crore but then stayed the course to stave off late bids from Gujarat Titans and Sunrisers Hyderabad to rope in the hard-hitter.
Punjab Kings bought England all-rounder Liam Livingstone for $1.53 million but Australia’s World-Cup winning skipper Aaron Finch went unsold in the players auction for this year’s Indian Premier League (IPL) on Sunday. https://t.co/oHbrRi3zSU
