Bangladesh batting coach Ashwell Prince has stepped down from his post with immediate effect. Bangladesh Cricket Board chief executive Nizamuddin Chowdhury confirmed the development to Cricbuzz on Wednesday, February 9. Prince joined Bangladesh last year and although he came on board only for the series against Zimbabwe, the BCB later decided to extend his contract that was meant to run till the T20 World Cup in Australia this year. It is learnt by the publication that the BCBโs decision to employ their newly appointed batting consultant Jamie Siddons in the national set-up played a role in Princeโs decision.
Ashwell Prince had a mixed tenure as Bangladesh coach:
๐ They struggled with the bat in the 2021 T20 World Cup and against Pakistan at home
๐ However, they bounced back superbly in the Mount Maunganui Test, which they famously won against New Zealandโ ESPNcricinfo (@ESPNcricinfo) February 9, 2022
