England have sacked head coach Chris Silverwood, the latest to be removed in the aftermath of the team’s horror show in the men’s Ashes series. Silverwood departed the team a day after the managing director, Ashley Giles, was shown the door. Andrew Strauss, the new interim director of cricket, will appoint a caretaker coach with a Test tour of the West Indies on the cards. Under Silverwood’s watch, England lost a record nine Tests in the calendar year, including series defeats versus India, New Zealand and Australia.
Chris Silverwood has left his role as England Men’s Head Coach.
We wish him all the best for the future.
