Ashely Giles has stepped down from his post as managing director of England men’s cricket following an ECB board meeting over the team’s disastrous Ashes performance. Giles will be replaced on an interim basis by Andrew Strauss until a full-time replacement is found. The structural changes are ringing in the wake of England’s abject 4-0 loss in the recently-concluded Ashes. Head coach Chris Silverwood’s position too has been under the scanner although a decision on his continuity in the role is yet to be taken.
