Young quick Darcie Brown provided the star turn as Australia put behind an indifferent batting performance to secure an Ashes-retaining win in Canberra, leaving England with the chastening feeling of βso near, yet so farβ for the second time in four days. The victory gave Australia an unassailable 8-4 lead in the multi-format series with two ODIs remaining and meant the Ashes would remain in their possession as they have been since 2015. Brown picked up four wickets to wrap England up for 178 in a chase of 206.
