(Video) Fielder’s brain-fade allows batters to run 5 on last ball to claim astonishing win

Things took a ridiculous turn in Al-Wakeel Cricket League as a fielder had a horror brain fade during the most defining moment of the match between Audionic and AutoMall. After being asked to chase down 155 runs in 20 overs, the AutoMall required five runs to win the match off the last legitimate delivery with two wickets in hand.

The batter could only strike the ultimate delivery down the ground to long-off, but that’s when the fun began. The fielder collected the ball cleanly, but rather than throwing it straight into the hands of the wicket-keeper, he amusingly ran all the way up to the non-striker’s end and dislodged the bails with the batter safely within the crease.

He then tried to compensate for his ill-judged endeavour and had a shy at the keeper’s end. The wayward throw meant the two AutoMall batters successfully completed five runs in the middle to pull off an incredible heist, made possible by the faux pas of the fielder.
