Bangladesh opener Tamim Iqbal said on Thursday that he is taking a break from international T20 cricket for the next six months. He will continue to participate in domestic cricket. Cricbuzz reported that Tamim is unlikely to play the shortest format till the next 50-over World Cup in 2023, but he changed his stance after having several meetings with the top brass of the board. It was learnt by the publication that the board asked him not to take a break till the next World Cup in 2023 and instead take a sabbatical for six months, as it will give them an option to draft him in for the upcoming T20 World Cup, scheduled in Australia in October.
