India’s series defeat to South Africa was an eye-opener for the team but the persisting problems with team balance will be corrected when some of the players who were unavailable for selection return, head coach Rahul Dravid reflected. India were clean-swept 0-3 by South Africa in a series in which they were thoroughly outplayed in all departments, having a chance to emerge glorious only in the dead rubber. Dravid said that India haven’t been played much ODI cricket since the last World Cup in 2019 and have a fair few opportunities to improve before the 2023 event.
