Australia snared the big wicket they wanted before the new ball as Ben Stokes was undone by a bit of extra bounce from Nathan Lyon. The gutsy left-hander had been brilliant with his balance of attack and defence, and just when it looked like he would guide England to a draw Lyon had him edging to an alert Steve Smith at slip for 60. Jos Buttler has linked up with Jonny Bairstow at the crease and the onus is on the keeper-bats to get the job done. Although it won’t be any easy as the Australians smell blood.
