The second session of the final day of the Sydney Ashes Test should’ve been underway by on time but there was some light rain around that halted action. England wouldn’t really mind a rain delay as it would improve their chances of salvaging a draw in the fourth Test of the series and thereby, avoid a clean sweep. When the rain relented, seven overs had been lost because of the interruption, and there’s 56 left for England to keep out. The final two sessions of the day promise enthralling action, although the prospects of an England victory has gotten significantly slimmer.
Rain has passed over the SCG to delay the second session of the day, though covers are coming off the ground and a resumption looks on the cards.
