Usman Khawaja was peppered by the short stuff earlier in his innings at the Sydney Cricket Ground, but the calm and composed left-hander has gradually slid into his groove. Khawaja got on top of a bouncer from Stuart Broad and nailed the pull towards mid-wicket after reaching his half-century on Test comeback. It has been a sublime knock from the southpaw, who shared a century stand with Steve Smith to steady Australia who lost three wickets on the opening day. The hosts are well placed at 268/5 but need Khawaja to kick on.
