An excellent knock from the defiant Dean Elgar, who remains not out on 46 as South Africa end the day at 118/2, kept the hosts on track in their 240-run chasing mission. Rassie van der Dussen has provided good support in an unbeaten 25-run stand that has lasted for 76 deliveries. South Africa need 122 more for a series-levelling win while India require eight wickets, an equation that makes for a delicious fourth day at the Wanderers. Dean Elgar's mitigation, however, has ensured that South Africa have their noses ahead at Stumps on day three.
