(Photo) Keegan Petersen nails down number three spot with maiden Test fifty

Dean Elgar’s resistance finally comes to an end as the South African skipper departed for 28 off 120 balls. It was an inspired bowling change from KL Rahul as Shardul Thakur strikes with his golden arm. The ball was pitched on good ength and shaped away a bit from Elgar, who had an ill-fated poke at it. The breakthrough curtailed the 74-run second-wicket stand which came off 211 deliveries. Petersen, meanwhile, has brought up his maiden Test fifty, a knock built on the pillars of stern defence and calculated strokeplay.
