India snuffed out South Africa quickly on the final day of the Boxing Day Test in Centurion to register a 113-run victory. The visitors have gained a 1-0 lead in the three-match series, bolstering hopes of achieving the elusive series win in South Africa on what is their eighth tour to the rainbow nation. It is also the first-ever triumph India recorded in Centurion, South Africa’s fortress. To South Africa’s credit, they didn’t just fold away without a fight. Dean Elgar was defiant, and he had spells with van der Dussen as well as Bavuma to keep India waiting. But India weren’t to be denied.
