In an attritional morning session, India extended their lead to 209 in the first Test, losing two wickets on Wednesday morning at the SuperSport Park in Centurion. But debutant Marco Jansen triggered the visitors’ collapse post Lunch, getting rid of both Virat Kohli and Ajinkya Rahane. While Kohli went searching for a booming cover drive at his own peril, Rahane looked good for his 20 before pulling one from outside the off-stump down square leg’s throat. Meanwhile, Pujara was undone by Lungi Ngidi.

Despite the flurry of wickets, India find themselves in a decent position, having secured a lead of 275.
