The first ODI between the USA and Ireland scheduled for Boxing Day on December 26 has been cancelled due to the emergence of a positive case of COVID-19 in the umpiring team. A net bowler not part of the squad has also tested positive from the USA camp, according to Cricbuzz. This has resulted in no match official being available for the first ODI with three out of the four testing negative, but having been in close contact with the infected individual has ruled them out of the series opener too.
