There had been some rain going around Melbourne this morning and as a result, the toss was delayed. But Australia had the coin falling in their favour and have opted to bowl first. handing a Test debut to pacer Scott Boland. This is the first time that Australia have won the toss and opted to bowl in a Test match since Oval 2019. It's the first instance they have elected to field at home since the Boxing Day Test, in Melbourne, against England in 2013. Meanwhile, Boland becomes only the fourth indigenous Test cricketer for the hosts.
