Perth Scorchers extended their unbeaten run in BBL 11 as they beat Melbourne Renegades by 21 runs on Wednesday, December 22, to record their fifth on the trot and hurry to the top of the table. Riding on Mitchell Marsh’s 86 off 53 and Laurie Evans’s 16-ball 42 not out, the Scorchers posted a huge total of 206/5 after opting to bat at the Docklands Stadium in Melbourne. Aaron Finch and Nic Maddinson scored brisk half-centuries in the steep chase but the Renegades could only manage 185/5 in the end.
