Sky Sports Cricket pundit and former England and Kent batter Rob Key pinned the blame of England’s shoddy performance on county pitches, saying they are not producing ready-made Test cricketers. He believes the quality of county pitches has dropped significantly over the years. Michael Atherton reckons English bowlers need more experience on surfaces with little movement while Nasser Hussain insists true wickets, rather than turning ones, are required to improve England’s spin-bowling output.
