Jhye Richardson had Rory Burns in trouble with the cross-seam deliveries from round the wicket. He beat the bat first on a couple of occasions before finding the edge. Steve Smith took a sharp low catch at second slip as England lost their third wicket on 70. Burns batted the best he has in the ongoing Ashes so far but failed to convert what was certainly a promising start. The onus will again shift on the experienced duo of Joe Root and Ben Stokes to weather the storm.
