Chris Woakes was looking proactive at the crease in his bid to rescue England, but Nathan Lyon weaved his magic to dent the hosts further. The off-break spun a bit to take the inside edge of his bat and ricochet onto the stumps as England sank to 202/7. Ollie Robinson was lucky to survive a dropped chance in the gully – the only blemish so far in Australia’s catching report card in this series – but was trapped leg-before by Loon soon thereafter. England rely solely on Ben Stokes now to help them avoid the follow-on.
