Having managed a paltry 147 in the first innings, England were in desperate need of a few early wickets to stay in the contest. Ollie Robinson delivered the opening breakthrough for his captain, with Marcus Harris’ thick outside edge carrying low to Dawid Malan at second slip. Mark Wood is bowling some serious gas from the other end and it is up to David Warner and Marnus Labuschagne to negotiate the new ball. In fact, Mark Wood’s fifth ball of the series was quicker than any delivery England bowled in the 2017/18 Ashes.
Wicket!
Just the start England were hoping for!
