It proved a good toss to lose for Australia as England were rolled out for a shambolic 147 on the opening day of the 2021-22 Ashes series before the final session was washed out in Brisbane. The wrecker-in-chief was Pat Cummins, who returned sparkling figures of 5/38 and in the process, became the first captain since Bob Willis in 1982-83 to take a fifer in an Ashes affair. England's lousy batting display has put them right behind the eight ball and it would take a monumental effort to stage a recovery, especially since the visitors have left out James Anderson and Stuart Broad.
England lose their third wicket as Joe Root edges straight to David Warner.
