Bangladesh stalwart Mahmudullah has announced his retirement from Tests, bringing an end to a red-ball career that spanned a dozen years. The 35-year-old, who made his Test debut in 2009, featured in 50 matches, scoring 2914 runs at 33.49, including five centuries and 16 fifties. He also took 43 wickets with his canny off-spin in the longer format besides captaining Bangladesh for six Tests. The former skipper departed on a high, having struck an unbeaten 150 in his last match against Zimbabwe earlier this year.
