Pakistan inflicted a clean sweep over a demoralized Bangladesh in the Twenty20 series, winning the third and final game by five wickets after an exciting last over on Monday. Bangladesh posted a mediocre 124-7 but a slow approach meant Pakistan required eight runs off the final six balls. Although skipper Mahmudullah dismissed Sarfaraz Ahmed and Haider Ali in consecutive deliveries, Iftikhar Ahmed smashed a six off the fourth ball to deny the part-timer a hat-trick.

With the equation reading two runs off two balls, Iftikhar went for the glory shot at his own peril. New batter Mohammad Nawaz then hit a four through extra cover to usher Pakistan home. Mahmudullah finished with a stupendous 3-10 from his solitary over.
