(Photo) New Zealand ride on Williamson special to post an imposing 172

It was a top effort from New Zealand to finish with 172 in the T20 World Cup decider against Australia, especially after having recorded their lowest powerplay score of the tournament. Skipper Kane Williamson had a sedate run of form till today, but once Josh Hazlewood gave him that lifeline on 17 with the dropped catch, he put on a show chock full of intent and innovation. Having 172 on a dry pitch with two quality spinners in Ish Sodhi and Mitchell Santner gives the Blackcaps the edge if dew doesn’t make too much of an impact.
