Dwayne Pretorius has certainly adhered to Morne Morkel’s blueprint by putting in the hours on the training ground under the watchful eye of Proteas bowling coach Charl Langeveldt, who was, in his heyday, a top-notch white-ball death bowler. Although South Africa couldn’t go through to the semi-final stage despite four wins in five matches, Pretorious impressed one and all with his composure under pressure. He finished the tournament as Proteas’ leading wicket-taker with nine scalps, pipping Anrich Nortje to the post.
