South African captain Temba Bavuma was disappointed with his team’s shambolic batting performance after their 5-wicket defeat in the opening game of the ICC T20 World Cup Super 12s. The Proteas struggled to cope with the might of the Aussie attack and could only manage 118 for 9 in 20 overs after being sent in Aaron Finch. Aiden Markram was the only batsman who made a sizeable contribution with 40 runs with 16 being the next best score from David Miller.
“As much as it was a day that didn’t go according to plan, there are positives we can take out of it. We spoke [at the change of innings] about not giving up and leaving everything out there in the field. I believe the boys did that.”#AUSvSA #T20WorldCup #BePartOfIt pic.twitter.com/a9aFgRiE9R
