Sri Lanka skipper Dasun Shanaka won the toss and opted to bowl first against the Netherlands in the 12th match of Group A in T20 World Cup 2021. He reasoned the islanders have three games lined up at the same venue in the next stage and aspire to assess the conditions well. He felt batting second gives teams a better crack at winning after observing the proceedings during Indian Premier League 2021. Charith Asalanka was roped in at the expense of Dinesh Chandimal.
