Afghanistan won the toss and opted to bat in their warm-up fixture against the West Indies in Dubai. And they did so commendably well to post a daunting 189/5. Mohammad Nabi led the charge as Afghanistan then starved West Indies of runs, with the scoreboard ambling at 50/3 after ten overs. Roston Chase, in particular, found the going tough, managing an inexplicable 18 runs off his first 29 balls. He eventually raised a half-century, but the win never looked on and West Indies went down by a jumbo 56 runs.
