Having been dwarfed to 67/6 in a steep 166-run chase, the glimmer of hope flickered for Papua New Guinea courtesy of Norman Vanua’s lion-hearted 47 off 37 deliveries. He partnered along with the tail to keep PNG in the hunt, although they came short by 17 runs in the end. Scotland rocked the chasers early, but vital contributions from Sese Bau and Vanua got PNG back to their feet. Albeit, they couldn’t quite get the job done and were consigned to successive losses after having been humbled by Oman in the T20 World Cup opener.
