MS Dhoni was mighty impressed by Kolkata Knight Riders’ fightback in the UAE leg of the Indian Premier League, so much so that he showered plaudits on the purple and golden brigade before talking about his own team’s triumphant campaign. Dhoni was of the opinion that it was KKR who deserved to lift the cup given their remarkable turnaround. For the uninitiated, Kolkata lost five of their seven games in the first half of the tournament, but the pandemic-induced break came in handy as they gave an astonishingly better account of themselves in the remainder.
