England’s players touched down in Oman yesterday ahead of the commencement of the T20 World Cup on 17 October. It was just a small section of the squad, with so many of the Three Lions involved in the resumption of the Indian Premier League, the final of which takes place on Friday.
Although England will be without Sam Curran, Jofra Archer and Ben Stokes, starving the world number one side of a vital balance and firepower, they will have the likes of Jos Buttler, Jonny Bairstow and Chris Woakes fresh and firing after they opted to take some time out rather than head to the IPL last month.
