Matt Parkinson claimed his 100th wicket in First-Class cricket on Wednesday, dismissing Michael Burgess stumped for 44 with a lovely delivery that found some excess turn. The ball and excellent glovework from Alex Davies was a rare moment of light relief for Lancashire on what proved to be a chastening day, the Bears closing on 464/7, 386 runs ahead, after Lancs were skittled for 78 on day one. Warwickshire’s runs came via hundreds from Rob Yates, who made 113, and Will Rhodes, who finished the day unbeaten on 151.
