(Video) Baseball commentators lose their minds over catch that would be standard practice in cricket

Judging by the commentator's reaction to this catch during a Major League Baseball game, you would have thought something quite special had been achieved: a flying, rapid catch to his right, perhaps; an incredibly slick pick up and throw, maybe. In reality, the fielder had simply caught the ball with his hand, rather than the glove that normally absorbs any airborne chances in the sport.

Without wishing to establish any sort of rivalry between the two sports, it seems uncontroversial to point out that this would represent a fairly regulation piece of work in cricket. Give me Chris Jordan running along the boundary and clutching it one-handed at great speed whilst lobbing it back into play any day. We ought to put this commentator in front of fielding like that and see if his heart can cope with the brilliance.
