Hampshire emerged on Thursday morning ahead of a huge day three against Lancashire in the fight for the County Championship title. Much depends on the goings-on at Edgbaston, where Warwickshire need three more wickets against Somerset within the best part of 25 overs to gain a decisive final bowling point. The game between Hants and Lancs itself is finely poised, though, with Hampshire bowling their hosts out for 141 after putting on 143 all out themeselves, and beginning the morning 158/7. They had an excellent 69 from James Vince and a useful 41 from Liam Dawson to thank.
