James Vince played a captain’s knock as he steered Hampshire to calmer waters against Lancashire in the County Championship. The elegant right-hander drove a full-toss through the covers to get to the milestone. Vince also uncorked a scorching cut earlier in the day as he led Hampshire’s revival alongside Liam Dawson after they lost half their side for just 78 runs. Vince will have to kick on and produce a score of note to make sure his team manages to put a competitive total on the board.
