The Kolkata Knight Riders completed an emphatic win over the Royal Challengers Bangalore on Monday, getting over the line with all of nine wickets in hand. The victory was one that found its root in KKR's bowling performance, skittling RCB for 92 thanks to figures of 3-9 for Andre Russell and 3-13 for Varun Chakravarthy. The modest chase proved unproblematic, with just the one wicket of Shubman Gill, who struck 48 off 34 balls, falling to the bowling of Yuzvendra Chahal. Gill's opening partner Venkatesh Iyer, playing his first game in the IPL, brought his side home with a confident 41 not out off 27 deliveries.
