Somerset appeared to be dead and buried in the 151-run chase against Hampshire as they lost half their side for just 34, with the asking rate set on an upward spiral. A sensible stand between Tom Abell and Lewis Gregory resurrected the innings but the former’s departure at 103 left the side with an uphill task of getting 48 off 20 balls. Somerset discovered the unlikeliest of heroes in Ben Green, who smoked an 18-ball 35 to keep the contest alive, and Scotland’s Josh Davey as they pulled off an improbable heist.
