(Video) Peter Trego calls time on 22-year county career

After 22 years spent on the county circuit, including 540 appearances for Somerset and two campaigns with Nottinghamshire, Peter Trego has retired from the professional game, as per BBC Sport. Trego debuted for Somerset in 2000 and won the Royal London One Day Cup in the first year of his opening spell at Taunton. He spent some time with Kent and Middlesex before spending fourteen years, between 2006 and 2020, back with Somerset. He played a huge role in Notts winning the T20 Blast on Finals Day last year and is now pursuing a career in professional golf.
