On this day in 2007, Brett Lee took the first ever hat-trick in Twenty20 Internationals. It came during the first ever T20 World Cup, against Bangaladesh at Newlands, Cape Town. The feat came in the 17th over and restricted Bangladesh to a total of 123/8, Lee claiming the figures of 3-27 from his four overs. The three victims were a young Shakib-Al-Hasan, Mashrafe Mortaza and Alok Kapali. Australia would go on to comfortably win the game, chasing down the target with nine wickets and 37 balls to spare.
