New Zealand are to tour Pakistan over the next few weeks for the first time in over eighteen years, and touched down in the country on Saturday. Although in unusual, COVID-secure circumstances, their arrival emphasises the importance and welcome nature of Pakistan being able to play cricket truly at home.
The two sides will take each other on in three One Day Internationals and five Twenty20 games, the latter beginning on September 17 and the final game being played on October 3. Despite losing some of their main stars to the upcoming IPL resumption, the series will represent vital preparation for the T20 World Cup in the United Arab Emirates, beginning next month.
