“Jarvo”, the now infamous pitch invader who has made himself renowned over the series for interrupting each Test since Lord’s wearing an India strip, returned on Friday as he emerged on the Oval outfield with cricket ball in hand. Previously at Headingley he had entered the fray with full batting gear on. The joke seemed to have soured with many onlookers, with audible whistles and booing amongst the crowd at Headingley. Many were suggesting that the collision with Jonny Bairstow had taken it too far on this occasion.
