(Video) Ollie Pope breezes into form with series of fluent boundaries

With Ollie Pope returning to England’s Test team at the Oval after a long injury lay-off, many will be desperate to see the runs his considerable talent has promised for over two years now. He lent an insight into that abundant ability with this flurry of superb shots during England’s first innings. After a hugely difficult opening morning in which the home side lost Craig Overton and Dawid Malan, Pope and Jonny Bairstow were able to partially turn the tide with their efficient run-scoring. At one stage they hit 41 runs together at a run rate of 10.70.
