Craig Overton, England’s nightwatchman after Joe Root fell late on day one, was dismissed by Umesh Yadav early on in the morning session on day two at the Oval. It left England 53-4 and brought India right back into the Test match. Overton fell in similar fashion to Haseeb Hameed on the first day, attempting to cut a shorter delivery that was too close to him for such a shot, nicking off to Virat Kohli at first slip. The series, poised at 1-1, remains wide open.
