(Video Craig Overton turns up the heat on Ajinkya Rahane as Moeen Ali takes marginal catch

Moeen Ali

Ollie Phillips

Ajinkya Rahane, under some considerable pressure given his recent struggles and those of India's middle order as a whole, failed to silence the doubters as he fell for 14 to Craig Overton in the first innings against England at the Oval. Having bowled a little too full after lunch, England drew their lengths back a little and quickly reaped the rewards. Rahane's wicket was a little controversial, with some suggesting – many of them India fans – that the ball had been grounded by Moeen Ali as he went to catch it. In real time and to the naked eye, the take seemed a clean one.
