Dale Steyn, who bid goodbye to all forms of cricket earlier today, was a merciless force of nature. His induckers tore apart both a batsman’s technique and ego while the tantalizing outswingers thudded into the keeper’s gloves at breakneck speed. Australian wicket-keeper Brad Haddin was at the receiving end of Steyn’s venom, having his stumps demolished not once but twice in a Test. These were carbon copy dismissals, with Haddin having absolutely no answers to the slanting missiles sent down by one of the greatest fast bowlers of our generation.
